Johnny Stanton was born in Manhattan and has never lived anywhere else. His Siamese Banana Press published Paul Auster, Joe Brainard, and many other influential writers and artists of the 1960s and 1970s. He is the author of many short stories and the novel Mangled Hands, published in 1985 by Sun & Moon and republished in 2021 by Tough Poets Press.
