Issue 03 | Fall / Winter 2026
Tough Poets Review returns with Issue 03, our biggest issue yet.
The Fall/Winter 2026 issue brings together Richard Siken, Chris Kraus, McKenzie Wark, Douglas Rushkoff, Andrei Codrescu, Charles Bernstein, Bernadette Geyer, John Tottenham, Jack Skelley, Vaginal Davis, Michael Hafftka, and June Gutman, along with dozens of notable writers and artists working across poetry, fiction, essays, conversations, photography, visual art, and experimental forms.
Among the issue’s features, Richard Siken talks with painter Michael Hafftka about poetry, painting, and their respective practices.Chris Kraus contributes new fiction, continuing her interrogation of the boundaries between fiction, criticism, and biography. McKenzie Wark talks with returning TPR contributor Willow Sommer about raving, aesthetics, politics, and what counts as praxis. Douglas Rushkoff writes about loving through apocalypse, and what we owe one another at the edge of catastrophe.
This issue also allowed us to experiment with new forms: a multigenerational collaboration between Vaginal Davis and Gavin Marcus, executive director of ABC No Rio, whose conversation about DIY scenes was turned into a zine by Claudia Stanley that appears in its entirety in the issue. And a recorded walk through London between Florence Shaw, vocalist and lyricist for Dry Cleaning, and Will René, host of NTS Radio’s Plastic Language and poetry librarian, has been transformed into a four-act play by our editor-in-chief.
Elsewhere: poetry, fiction, essays, visual art, and experimental work from writers and artists whose willingness to take risks leads to work of real imagination and invention.
Publication day is November 1, 2026.
